Melgven is an active community, first prize winner in the regional "flowered cities and villages" cotest 2008. Lying on the doorstep of the seaside resort of Concarneau and the Glenan isles, it is located in the county of Finistere at the tip of Finistere, south of Cornwall. Within 10mn of the beaches, it is a corner of countryside in sight of the sea".
In the "Land of granite and water" (Elliant, Melgven, Rosporden, Saint-Yvi, Tourc'h), you can catch a glimpse of nature while hiking, horse-riding or cycling: discover our rich natural heritage of flora and fauna; visit over 20 vaults and chirches, each one different because they date from various architectural eras (6 are in the Melgven area, that of "Bonne nouvelle" in opposite the Keranmeriet cottages); at each turn of the path you'll find a manor, an old stone laundry, a crucifix monument, witnesses to the past. Melgven is still focussed on the sea, as it was in previous times when it's men and women worked in the sardine industry in Concarneau.
